More Good News!

Hello Everyone-

We had great news today after Dr. Smith did another x-ray of Daisy's hips.

They look incredible! Both hips are still in great shape and it looks as though the cast might come off earlier than expected. Carla is guessing somewhere around the end of April or early May.

Daisy continues to do really well and has been a great help - she's gone grocery shopping (and doesn't object to having groceries piled around her and is learning how to use the self-check out machines), has been doing push-ups (to keep her arms in shape) and is eating all of her meals at the table again (and playing with the napkins)!

We've been spending as much time outside as possible - going on walks, blowing bubbles and just enjoying the sunshine. It's been a crazy spring - snowing one minute and sunny the next.

Daisy continues to take everything in stride and loves nothing more than a good party! She really is incredible!

Hope you're all doing well and thanks for keeping up with the blog!

Spring has sprung in Bend

Well, we're having a really nice bout of warm spring weather so we've been trying to get outside and take advantage of it. It might be snowing again tomorrow!

Daisy continues to amaze us with her good humor and ability to handle being in a spica cast with very little grumbling or discomfort. She really is incredible. She doesn't complain, but does ask occasionally if this is the last time she'll have to do this!

We headed down to Mirror Pond to watch the ducks and get out in the sunshine. She's also been eating lunch outside (with our cat, Ellie) as much as possible.

Sunday night she helped Sean bbq some steaks (then had 3 helpings!).

She's been working on re-decorating the house and doing some market research in Decor magazine!

We try and change her position often and so put her on her tummy in front of the toy box a few times a day. Cinderalla continues to be her favorite movie, but Shrek is a close second. It could be neck and neck by the week's end!

Thanks again for all of your good wishes and we'll continue to keep you posted.

Getting out and about

Daisy continues to do really well after surgery. Carla Smith came by for a post-op check-up and was happy with her progress so far. She's off of pain meds and moving around well (or as well as you can with a cast from your chest to your ankles!).

We borrowed a baby jogger so we can take Daisy on a 'tour of the town' when the weather is nice. It's been incredible lately and Doma, Daisy and Sonam have been heading out to feed the ducks by the river, they hiked up Pilot Butte and have been enjoying Bend and early spring!

Daisy had her first Costco pizza (obviously with Sean, not Leila!) and loved it! She's an ice-cream hound and has now memorized all of the movies that have been given to her. Little Mermaid, Cinderella 1 and 2 and Mulan are the favorites (followed closely by the original Flipper).

We'll continue to keep you posted and let us know how you're doing!
